Project Description:
The project involved technical review of the Stormwater Manual for the Department of Ecology, State of Washington.

Services Provided:
CAS reviewed and evaluated the adequacy, accuracy, clarity, and completeness of the contents contained in the final draft of the "Stormwater Management Manual for Western Washington." CAS provided comments on stormwater management techniques involving careful application of site design principles and construction techniques to prevent sediments and other pollutants from entering surface or ground water. Thresholds for the selection of best management practices (BMPs) were written to allow for the most appropriate sizing and placement of flow control and treatment BMPs. New BMPs were reviewed and added for controlling runoff from construction sites and for preventing stormwater pollution at the source. Provided comments and suggestions pertaining to criteria and specifications for the application, design, construction and maintenance of the BMPs, and coordinated with the client and other Washington State consultants.
