Mr. Canales is CAS Consulting’s Managing Director of South Central Texas. He oversees design plans and construction of projects in San Antonio, San Marcos, Corpus Christi, and Bexar County and runs CAS Consulting’s San Antonio office.

Mr. Canales retired from the City of Austin after twenty six years of service.  Prior to his retirement he served in several senior management positions.  Most recently he was the Deputy City Manager.  Before becoming deputy he served as the Chief of Staff for the City Manager.  Mr. Canales’ experience includes providing leadership over the Engineering Divisions that report to the City of Austin’s Water and Wastewater, Public Works, and Small and Minority Business Resources Departments. In that capacity, Mr. Canales helped provide guidance and direction in solving problems related to engineering projects such as airport, environmental remediation, storm drainage, sanitary/sewer, overflow response, roadway, water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant, park development, capital improvement projects, and neighborhood/community outreach.
