Project Description:
The project, located in the southwest Austin area surrounded by a residential neighborhood, consists of designing the eastern extension of Davis Lane across vacant property to Leo Street. A left turn lane from westbound Davis Lane to southbound Leo Street with a 20-year pavement design is required as well as a drainage structure beneath the new street extension. The project requires the removal of a significant amount of trees from the proposed road extension. Tree identification and mitigation will be provided. The project also requires additional Right-Of-Way and easement acquisition. A water main air relief valve and structure and two fire hydrants are required to be relocated as well as a bus stop. In addition sidewalk and bike lanes are to be extended.

CAS Consulting & Services, Inc. (CAS) was a subconsultant for Encotech Engineering Consultants, Inc. CAS provided civil engineering services for this project which included preparing a preliminary design report and plans that addressed the following rehabilitation strategies: 20 year life pavement design, 12-inch water main extension, air release valve structure, storm drainage and culvert design, bus stop slab relocation/ coordination, coordination of design with utility coordination committee, bike lane and sidewalk placement, evaluation for ADA compliance, roadway alignment, utility conflicts identification, anticipated ROW and easement acquisition.
