The Menger Creek Drainage and Linear Park Project has been completed with the Rio Grande Bridge and Linear Park now open to the public with full access.

The objective of this project was to confine the 100-year floodplain in the channel, thereby preventing more than 60 properties from flooding. The project encompasses channel improvements from 400-feet east of Walters Street to the termination of the existing channel on the east side of the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) right-of-way. The design included replacing a pedestrian bridge and adding new sidewalks along Grimes Street; replacing a vehicular bridge at N. Rio Grande Street with a single span, 30-foot wide bridge; and upgrading the drainage conditions at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing.

CAS served as the prime design consultant for the project.
